Gideon (a harvest assembly)

Tell the story for Gideon.  The simple outline is:

Gideon is hiding because of the Mideanites – the wine press is unused because wine only comes in times of peace, and thus is a symbol of God’s blessing.  Relate to Bugs life and the harvest being taken each year.

A man appears claiming him as mighty warrior.  Gideon points out how weak he is.

Offerings are given, that are burnt up.  God talks to Gideon.

To many soldiers, God whittles them down to a handful.

God wins the battle (the enemies run away in confusion) – detail how this was achieved.

Pray concerning how God can achieve the impossible
